On March 12, in Dien Bien province, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister and the working delegation inspected the preparation for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
Inspecting the preparation for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term in communes and wards: Thanh An, Thanh Yen, Muong Thanh, Dien Bien Phu, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra praised and highly appreciated the preparation of facilities, people and everyone is ready for election day 15.
At the inspection points, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the election teams to focus on performing well on the solemn election opening ceremony; arrange and allocate reasonable voting time according to each region; proactively support voters and promptly handle arising situations, ensuring that the election takes place quickly, safely, and in accordance with regulations.
On the same day, the Deputy Prime Minister and the working delegation worked with the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Thanh Yen commune to assess the results after the operation of the 2-level local government model.
Leaders of Thanh Yen commune said that the commune has proactively deployed tasks, ensuring smooth operation of the apparatus, without interruption in resolving administrative procedures and providing public services; the team of commune officials and civil servants is mentally stable and feels secure in their work.
Thanh Yen commune also proposed that competent authorities allocate funds to build working headquarters to ensure the centralized operating conditions of the local government at 2 levels. At the same time, it is proposed to soon issue regulations on staff quotas for commune-level cadres and civil servants in accordance with the volume of tasks.
Concluding the working session, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra acknowledged and highly appreciated the preparation for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term in communes and wards of Dien Bien province.
The Deputy Prime Minister also requested Party committees and authorities at all levels to closely direct, prepare carefully, and closely follow the regulations of the Central Government and the province. Election committees at all levels need to launch emulation movements towards the fastest, highest quality and highest voter participation rate elections.
Regarding the operation of 2-level local government, Dien Bien province needs to focus on consolidating the organizational structure, especially specialized agencies under the commune-level People's Committee; continue to arrange public service units in the fields of education, health, and general service centers.
In the coming time, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the province to comprehensively review the contingent of officials, especially at the commune level; boldly mobilize provincial-level officials to support the missing positions such as information technology and land management.
