On June 25 and 26, 2025, the 1st Party Congress of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) for the 2025-2030 term was solemnly held at the Opera House (Hanoi). The official session of the Congress took place on June 26.
Attending and giving a speech at the Congress, Central Party Committee member and Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh acknowledged, highly appreciated and commended the achievements of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the recent term.
The Deputy Prime Minister also exchanged some experiences drawn from the past term. In particular, it is necessary to continue to innovate creative thinking, strategic vision, "looking wide, thinking deeply, doing great things, valuing time, deciding the right time, having to choose key focuses, doing each task in the spirit of 6 clear". This spirit has also been emphasized by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh many times during the working sessions.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Party and State pay special attention to the development of Vietnamese culture and people. Culture is identified as an important spiritual foundation and endogenous strength in the cause of rapid and sustainable development of the country.
The strong development of digital technology, artificial intelligence, digital communication, and creative industries has opened a new space, new tools, and new markets for the culture, sports and tourism industry to access, create, and connect widely.
Building and developing national tourism brands
Based on the results of the past term's lessons learned, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested focusing on a number of contents in the coming time.
First is to continue to improve the quality of Party building and the system of government, building a clean and strong Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Second, focus on perfecting institutions and legal policies on culture, increasing the endogenous strength of the country, truly being one of the resources for national development, forming standards of conduct in modern society; Summarize and summarize Projects, build legal policies to promote the development of cultural industries, entertainment industries, breakthroughs in tourism, and transformation in sports in the spirit of increasing national soft power through culture and from culture.

Seventh, build a movement to practice physical exercise according to the teachings of beloved Uncle Ho. Strengthen physical education and sports in schools to truly improve the physical strength and stature of the people, contributing to "creating resources" for high-performance sports and forming a generation of Vietnamese people with "heart, intelligence, will, determination, and great ambition".
Eighth, building and developing a national tourism brand imbued with national cultural identity, bringing "Tourism Smile". Develop a number of high-quality tourism products with international competitiveness. Strive to put Vietnam in the group of 30 countries with top tourism competitiveness in the world by 2030, attracting about 45 million international visitors, with total tourism revenue of about 13-14% of GDP.
