The 4th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector honored 300 typical advanced examples - those who have contributed to the country's glory, being a source of encouragement and motivation for all classes of people to continue to enthusiastically compete and achieve more achievements in the new era of national development.
Speaking at the Congress on September 25, Party Central Committee member and Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized that emulation has a profound and wide meaning, arousing human creativity, while promoting patriotism and international spirit towards a common goal.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister and the Government, in recent years, the patriotic emulation movement has always developed strongly and extensively, with many innovations in content and methods; has encouraged and motivated the entire nation to strive to compete, overcome difficulties and challenges, and achieve great achievements of historical significance in the cause of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland.
Reviewing the strategic orientation of the emulation movement in the new development period of the country, Central Party Committee member and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung emphasized: "The 4th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism takes place in the context that the Party, State and the entire political system have been synchronously implementing historic decisions, strategic breakthroughs to bring the country firmly into a new era - the era of strong and prosperous development".
In particular, in the coming time, based on the Ministry's proposal, the Politburo will issue a Resolution on the development of Vietnamese culture in the new era. The issued Resolution is the foundation and stronger driving force for the Ministry and the Culture, Sports and Tourism Sector to develop strongly.
The Minister called on the entire industry to compete to jointly implement the Declaration of Action of the Ministry and the Industry: "Culture is the foundation - Information is the conductor - Sports is the strength - Tourism is the bridge connecting", contributing significantly to the aspiration to build a strong, prosperous, democratic, fair, civilized, prosperous and happy Vietnam.
The mark of a brilliant journey
In fact, the patriotic emulation movement of the culture, sports and tourism sector in the past 5 years has flourished, with brilliant flowers, representing the will and talent of the Vietnamese people. They are artists who silently contribute on stage, athletes who sweat on the training floor, and those who work in sustainable tourism to promote the image of the country. Each person has a field, but they all share a passion and a spirit of service.
Among the honored examples, coach Mai Duc Chung, who was recently awarded the title of Labor Hero, could not hide his emotions. He shared that this is a great honor that he never dared to think about. The historical achievement of the Women's Football Team at the 2023 World Cup is a clear testament to the "steel" spirit and dedication.
Not only top-notch sports, the art field also left a strong impression with persistent contributions, bringing a rich cultural life to society.
Meritorious Artist Nguyen Si Tien - Director of the Youth Theater - shared that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism brings together many artists who are loved by the public. With the Youth Theater, a unit specializing in serving children, he is proud that many performances have become a part of the beautiful memories of many generations.
The greatest happiness of artists, according to him, is to see young audiences who have now grown up and brought their children to the theater. That is the continuation of generations, the strong vitality of true art.
The Patriotic Emulation Congress not only looks back on the past but also opens a new chapter with greater goals and aspirations.
People's Artist Tong Toan Thang - Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation - shared that the country's great achievements have become a great motivation for artists, and entering the period of cultural industry is an important milestone, encouraging artists in the industry to continue to achieve new achievements.
According to him, after the congress, Vietnamese culture and art will have the opportunity to rise up and integrate more strongly internationally, in line with the orientation of the Party and State.
Regarding policies, People's Artist Tong Toan Thang also hopes that the State will pay more attention to the lives of artists, have effective and professional treatment and investment in culture for sustainable artistic development. Sharing the same view, Musician Do Hong Quan affirmed: "Having a strong cultural force like today is the result of a long process, demonstrating the steadfastness of the Party and State on the path to developing an advanced culture with strong national identity".
He said that this achievement is thanks to the determination in implementing major programs, the strong contribution of artists and especially the response of the public.
Major events in 2025 such as the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day 2.9; the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day lit up the spirit of patriotism and national pride, affirming the important role of culture and art in social life.
The patriotic emulation movement in the culture, sports and tourism sector has been, is and will continue to be a beacon, a solid launching pad for Vietnamese cultural values to shine, for Vietnamese sports to reach the world level and Vietnam tourism to become a spearhead economic sector.
