On September 4, the People's Committee of Da Nang City organized the 1st City Patriotic Emulation Congress (2025-2030) with the theme "Promoting the strength of great solidarity and development aspiration, determined to build a modern Da Nang City, entering an era of national growth with the whole country".
Emulation movement spreads strongly
In the past 5 years (2020-2025), patriotic emulation movements in Da Nang have developed comprehensively, contributing significantly to socio-economic growth, ensuring social security, and maintaining national defense and security.
Notably, the "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas" movement has mobilized more than VND 5,517 billion in resources, making Da Nang a bright spot in the Central region with 144 standard communes, 55 advanced communes and 21 model communes. The whole city has 711 OCOP products, of which 2 products achieved 5 stars, 127 products achieved 4 stars, contributing to improving brand and competitiveness.
In the field of social security, implementing the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind", Da Nang (old) has spent more than 1,225 billion VND, built and repaired nearly 3,000 houses, issued more than 181,700 free health insurance cards, and introduced jobs to 8,400 workers. Quang Nam (old) also supported about 11,000 billion VND for 179,500 households to borrow capital, create jobs for 52,000 workers, build more than 92,000 clean water projects and nearly 1,400 solid houses.
To date, Da Nang has completed the removal of 12,298 temporary houses, with a total cost of more than 302 billion VND.
Honoring typical examples
In the 2020-2025 period, the total disbursed public investment capital will reach more than VND80,290 billion, forming a series of key projects: Lien Chieu Port, Chu Lai International Port, the Western Ring Road, La Son - Hoa Lien Expressway, Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan, expanding Da Nang and Chu Lai airports...
Da Nang continues to maintain its pioneering position in technology: 14 consecutive years leading the country in the ICT Index, 3 consecutive years leading in provincial digital transformation, 5 consecutive years being honored as "Outstanding Smart City of Asia".
At the Congress, the City People's Committee awarded: Emulation Flags to 23 outstanding collectives; Awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 36 typical advanced individuals; 5 collectives and 210 outstanding individuals for the period 2020-2025; Rewarded 5 collectives, 2 households, 48 individuals who are exemplary "good people, good deeds" in the community.
Speaking at the Congress, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Luong Nguyen Minh Triet affirmed: "Patriotism is a great motivation for Da Nang to break through and rise in the new period. The city will continue to innovate, taking people and businesses as the center, encouraging creativity to join hands to build Da Nang into a livable, modern and civilized city".
