On April 23, the People's Council of Nam Tu Liem District, term III, 2021-2026, held its 23rd session to discuss and approve a number of important contents, notably the Resolution on the policy of arranging ward-level administrative units in the area.
According to the plan approved by the District People's Council, Nam Tu Liem District will rearrange existing wards into 4 new grassroots administrative units, including: Tu Liem, Xuan Phuong, Tay Mo and Dai Mo.
Tu Liem administrative unit has an area of 10.09km2, population of 78,802 people. This unit includes the entire Cau Dien ward; most of the area and population of My Dinh 1, My Dinh 2, Phu Do, Me Tri wards (Nam Tu Liem); and part of Mai Dich ward (Cau Giay).
Xuan Phuong administrative unit is 10.85km wide, with a population of 108,984 people. Including the entire Phuong Canh and Xuan Phuong wards; most of Tay Mo wards (Nam Tu Liem); and part of Dai Mo, Minh Khai, Phuc Dien wards (Bac Tu Liem); Van Canh commune (Hoai Duc).
Tay Mo administrative unit has an area of 5.95km2 and a population of 46,469 people. Including most of Tay Mo ward; part of Dai Mo ward, Phu Do (Nam Tu Liem); Duong Noi ward (Ha Dong) and An Khanh commune (Hoai Duc).
Dai Mo administrative unit has an area of 7.65km2, population of 59,980 people. Including most of Dai Mo and Trung Van wards (Nam Tu Liem); part of Phu Do and Me Tri wards (Nam Tu Liem); Mo Lao, Duong Noi (Ha Dong); Trung Hoa (Cau Giay); Nhan Chinh (Thanh Xuan).
Previously, Nam Tu Liem District had organized a public consultation on this option. As a result, 93.98% of voters representing households agreed with the administrative unit arrangement plan, and 95.87% agreed with the expected names of the new administrative units.
Also at the meeting, the District People's Council passed a Resolution approving the 2024 state budget settlement in the district.
Speaking at the closing session, Mr. Lam Quang Thao - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council requested the District People's Committee to urgently complete the procedures and complete the new administrative apparatus to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operation in management and service of people and businesses.
Mr. Thao also requested agencies and units to continue to closely follow the targets and tasks of socio-economic development, national defense and security in 2025 and local practices to direct and operate resolutely and effectively; contributing to the completion of the district's development goals in the coming year.
