Today (April 7), the First Session of the 16th National Assembly enters its second working day. According to the expected schedule, from 8 am to 9 am, the National Assembly will meet separately.
From 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM, the National Assembly will hold a plenary session at the Hall. The session will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV1) and Voice of Vietnam Radio (VOV1).
The National Assembly implements the process of approving the Resolution to elect the President. After that, the President sworn in and delivers the inauguration speech.
From 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, the Ethnic Council and Committees of the National Assembly meet to perform tasks under their authority.
From 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, the National Assembly held a separate meeting to carry out procedures: approving the draft Resolution on the organizational structure of the Government for the 2026-2031 term; approving the list to elect the Prime Minister, Vice President, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, and Chief Procurator of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
After that, the National Assembly elects the Prime Minister by secret ballot.
In the afternoon, from 2 pm to 2:10 pm, the National Assembly held a separate meeting, listening to the Ballot Sorting Committee report on the results of the vote counting for the Prime Minister.
From 2:10 PM to 2:40 PM, the National Assembly held a plenary session at the Hall to carry out procedures to approve the draft Resolution on the election of the Prime Minister. The session was broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV1) and Voice of Vietnam Radio (VOV1).
After that, the Prime Minister took the oath and delivered the inauguration speech.
From 2:40 PM, the National Assembly held a separate meeting, proceeding to elect the Vice President, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, and Chief Procurator of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
From 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, the National Assembly will hold a plenary session at the Hall, implementing the process of passing the draft Resolution to elect the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court. This session will also be broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV1) and Voice of Vietnam Radio (VOV1).
After that, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court took an oath and delivered an inauguration speech.
From 4:00 PM, the National Assembly will hold a separate meeting, proceeding with the following contents such as implementing the process of approving draft Resolutions to elect Vice Presidents, Chief Procurators of the Supreme People's Procuracy; carrying out procedures to approve the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court on the appointment of Judges of the Supreme People's Court.
