According to the program of the first Extraordinary Session of the 16th National Assembly, on August 4, the National Assembly held a plenary session in the Hall and in groups on draft laws, including 2 draft laws related to the field of National Defense.
In the morning session, the National Assembly listened to the Minister of National Defense, authorized by the Prime Minister, present a report on 2 projects: the Draft Law on Prevention and Combat of Mass Destructive Weapons and the Draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of 9 laws on military and national defense.
After that, the Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs presented an appraisal report on the above 2 projects.
After that, the National Assembly discussed in Groups on: The Draft Law on Prevention and Combat of Mass Destructive Weapons; The Draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of 9 laws on military and national defense; The Draft Law on Dissemination and Education of Laws (amended).
In the afternoon session, the National Assembly discussed in groups: Draft Law on Oil and Gas (amended); Draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on State Compensation Liability; Draft Resolution of the National Assembly on specific mechanisms and policies to handle violations of laws related to the state economy, private economy and the application of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
Previously, in the afternoon session of August 3, the National Assembly also discussed in groups on: The Draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Customs Law; The Draft Law amending and supplementing Article 6 and Appendix IV on the list of conditional business lines of the Investment Law; The Draft Resolution of the National Assembly stipulating specific mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation of projects and works serving the APEC 2027 Summit in Phu Quoc Special Zone, An Giang province.
