Speaking at the 1st Congress of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, Mr. Dang Van Chinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, affirmed his determination to transform the province's growth model with the goal of higher and more sustainable economic development, towards double-digit growth rate in the new term.
Mr. Chinh said that in the 2021-2025 term, Vinh Long's GRDP will average 5.58%/year, the economic structure has shifted in the right direction, but the current growth model is still easily affected by climate change and epidemics.
Faced with this reality, the province has set a strong restructuring goal, innovating development methods and effectively exploiting existing potentials and advantages.
Regarding development orientation, Mr. Chinh emphasized the completion of the new Vinh Long Provincial Planning, making the most of the advantages of "3 sides bordering rivers, 1 side bordering the sea" to build diverse ecological zones, associated with the fields of agriculture, industry and services.
Agriculture has been strongly shifted towards modernity, ecology, application of high technology, development of value chains and deep processing industry.
Industry continues to attract investment in key industrial parks such as Hoa Phu, Binh Minh, and Co Chien, while developing renewable energy, aiming for Vinh Long to become a clean energy export center of the Mekong Delta.
Meanwhile, the service is oriented to develop modern, high-quality, based on digital technology platforms, focusing on logistics, river ports, seaports and tourism.
Mr. Chinh emphasized that effectively mobilizing and exploiting all resources, especially from the private sector, will be the key to helping Vinh Long break through, develop sustainably and be worthy of its central role in the region.
Mr. Dang Van Chinh emphasized the acceleration of the socio-economic development, towards the double-digit growth target, building Vinh Long province into a dynamic, modern and sustainable developing locality in the Mekong Delta region.
