On the afternoon of November 30, after the closing session of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly, at the Session Press Center, Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung chaired a press conference to announce the results of the session.
At the press conference, the reporter asked that the Party Central Committee had agreed on the policy of streamlining the apparatus, and assigned the National Assembly Party Delegation to develop a plan for arrangement and streamlining in the first quarter of 2025. So how will the plan to streamline the apparatus in the National Assembly be carried out?
In addition, is this streamlining of the apparatus related to the structure and number of National Assembly deputies for the 16th term?
Responding to this issue, Secretary General of the National Assembly Le Quang Tung said that streamlining the apparatus is the determination of the entire political system, as General Secretary To Lam stated at the recent Central Conference.
Streamlining here does not mean reducing but must ensure being refined, compact, strong, effective, and efficient. That is, this issue must be studied very carefully.
The Secretary General of the National Assembly also said that to implement the Central Resolution, the National Assembly has established a Steering Committee and the National Assembly Chairman is the head of the steering committee to streamline the apparatus.
Regarding timing, the Secretary General of the National Assembly stated that many tasks are being carried out simultaneously, including reviewing the implementation of Resolution 18 and streamlining the apparatus of the National Assembly Committees and the National Assembly Office.
According to the Secretary General of the National Assembly, the review is currently in progress, and the results are expected to be available by the end of December this year and early January 2025. At that time, the results will be announced and disseminated to voters and people.
Regarding the structure and number of National Assembly deputies for the 16th term, the Secretary General of the National Assembly emphasized that this is an issue that needs to be carefully studied and evaluated, and as the General Secretary directed, it must be very scientific.
