The National Assembly Standing Committee has just issued Resolution No. 1279/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Quang Ngai province for the 2023-2025 period.
Accordingly, the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Quang Ngai city is as follows:
An Phu commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 3.34 km2 and the population of 22,566 people of Nghia An commune and the entire natural area of 4.35 km2 and the population of 8,740 people of Nghia Phu commune. After establishment, An Phu commune had a natural area of 7.69 km2 and a population of 31,306 people.
After the arrangement, Quang Ngai city has 22 commune-level administrative units, including 9 wards and 13 communes.
Arrange the commune-level administrative units of Mo Duc district as follows:
Thang Loi commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 4.66 km2 and the population of 8,949 people of Duc Loi commune and the entire natural area of 11.72 km2 and the population of 8,016 people of Duc Thang commune. After establishment, Thang Loi commune had a natural area of 16.38 km2 and a population of 16,965 people.
After the arrangement, Mo Duc district has 12 commune-level administrative units, including 11 communes and 1 town.
Arrange the commune-level administrative units of Tu Nghia district as follows:
Adjust a part of the natural area of 2.99 km2, population of 4,916 people of Nghia My commune and a part of the natural area of 0.78 km2, population of 1,745 people of Nghia Phuong commune to merge into Song Ve town.
After adjustment, Song Ve town has a natural area of 6.42 km2 and a population of 15,044 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 1.47 km2 and population of 1,632 people of Nghia My commune after adjustment into Nghia Phuong commune. After merging, Nghia Phuong commune has a natural area of 7.31 km2 and a population of 10,127 people.
After the arrangement, Tu Nghia district has 13 commune-level administrative units, including 11 communes and 2 towns.
Arrange the commune-level administrative units of Son Tinh district as follows: Establish Tinh Ha town on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 19.81 km2, population of 18,234 people of Tinh Ha commune and a part of the natural area of 0.37 km2, population of 647 people of Tinh Son commune.
After its establishment, Tinh Ha town had a natural area of 20.18 km2 and a population of 18,881 people.
After adjustment, Tinh Son commune has a natural area of 14.36 km2 and a population of 9,689 people.
After the arrangement, Son Tinh district has 11 commune-level administrative units, including 10 communes and 1 town.
After rearranging commune-level administrative units, Quang Ngai province has 13 district-level administrative units and 170 commune-level administrative units.
This Resolution comes into force from January 1, 2025.
