The National Assembly Standing Committee has just issued Resolution No. 1254/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Bac Lieu province for the 2023-2025 period.
Resolution on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Bac Lieu City as follows:
Adjust part of the natural area of 5.26km2 and population of 3,553 people of Ward 8 to merge into Ward 3. After adjustment, Ward 3 has a natural area of 6.19km2 and population of 22,432 people.
After adjustment according to regulations, Ward 8 has a natural area of 5.77km2 and a population of 10,144 people.
After the arrangement, Bac Lieu City has 10 commune-level administrative units, including 7 wards and 3 communes.
After rearranging commune-level administrative units, Bac Lieu province has 7 district-level administrative units, including 5 districts, 1 town and 1 city; 64 commune-level administrative units, including 49 communes, 10 wards and 5 towns.
This Resolution comes into force from December 1, 2024.
The Resolution assigns the Government, People's Council, People's Committee of Bac Lieu province and relevant agencies and organizations to be responsible for organizing the implementation of this Resolution; arranging and perfecting the apparatus of local agencies and organizations; stabilizing the lives of local people, ensuring the requirements of socio-economic development, national defense and security in the area.
The Nationalities Council, the Committees of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Delegation of Bac Lieu province, within the scope of their tasks and powers, shall supervise the implementation of this Resolution.
