On July 10, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave its opinion on the National Assembly's report on people's petitions for April, May and June 2025.
One of the issues that voters and people have reflected is the situation of counterfeit and poor quality goods.
Vice Chairwoman of the Committee for Petition and Supervision Le Thi Nga said that this agency has proposed that the National Assembly Standing Committee request the Government and the Prime Minister to direct ministries and branches to study and take strict management measures, strengthen inspection of product quality and the origin of goods.
Along with that, strictly handle organizations and individuals involved in the production and trading of counterfeit goods. It is necessary to clarify the responsibilities of ministries, branches and individuals responsible for implementing post-inspection of registered product quality.
At the meeting, Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Society Nguyen Dac Vinh said that regarding the issue of counterfeit and poor quality goods, the Standing Committee of the Committee discussed with the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment and agreed on the plan to organize an explanation session in August.
Therefore, it is expected that in July and early August, reports from ministries, branches and localities will be received and conducted on-site surveys. In August, together with the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment, the Committee for Petition and Supervision, a session will be held to explain the two main groups: fake drugs and fake foods.
Speaking at the meeting, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man noted that focusing on strict management and strengthening inspection of product quality and origin of goods.
In the past three months, the relevant agencies have issued drastic instructions on handling poor quality goods and goods of unknown origin.
According to the direction of the General Secretary, it is necessary to focus on two areas: daily food and medicine, requiring central and local authorities to regularly inspect and review to combat counterfeit, fake, fake, and poor quality goods.
In addition, the National Assembly Chairman also suggested paying attention to ensuring the supply of goods on the market so that people can trust when shopping at supermarkets and stores, creating trust among the people.
