The Minister of Health emphasized: "The Ministry of Health's view is that for drugs and food, issues that directly affect people's health, need to be resolutely handled at the highest level".
The Minister also said that currently, through the bidding system, all drugs entering the hospital must have a legal origin. Counterfeit drugs mainly appear on the market, not in hospitals.
The Ministry of Health is closely coordinating with the National Steering Committee 389 (Standing Ministry of Finance), the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (advertising) and the Ministry of Public Security to address related issues, including the prevention of fake drugs and fake functional foods.
"The three recent highlights related to fake drugs and functional foods in Thanh Hoa, Hang Du Cuc's Kera candy and fake cosmetics in Dong Nai were all discovered by the Ministry of Health and coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security to investigate, demonstrating the determination of the Ministry of Health", said Ms. Dao Hong Lan.
Reducing people's waiting time for medical examination
frankly admitting that the health sector currently still has a technical difference in the quality of medical examination and treatment between regions, between upper and lower-level hospitals, Minister Dao Hong Lan said that this is one of the causes of overload at upper-level hospitals.
Therefore, the Ministry of Health has had many solutions, focusing on reviewing regulations, processes, application of information technology, digital transformation to reduce waiting time for people in medical examination and treatment, deploy online medical examination and treatment registration, organize remote medical examination and treatment.
Up to now, 3 facilities of K Hospital have been put into use with spacious and clean facilities, investing in modern equipment to meet the needs of medical examination and treatment for the people. Bach Mai Hospital has also implemented many bidding packages for purchasing machinery and equipment. The Ministry of Health will put the second facility of the two hospitals: Bach Mai and Viet Duc into operation, Minister Dao Hong Lan informed.
Need for a legal corridor to protect medical staff
Worried about the need for a legal corridor to protect the team of medical staff, Minister Dao Hong Lan emphasized that this is a burning issue. Accordingly, when drafting the revised Law on Medical Examination and Treatment, the Ministry of Health proposed many regulations prohibiting acts of abuse of medical staff, considering them as people performing official duties.
However, in practice, some recent incidents in Nam Dinh, Phu Tho, Nghe An have caused great concern for the ministry's leaders. The Ministry of Health has directly contacted local authorities, requesting strict handling, setting an example to rectify, deter, ensuring that the medical team needs to be protected in all cases.
"According to the regulations of the medical industry, when providing emergency care, doctors and nurses must prioritize patients with a vital signs of critical condition. Therefore, we hope that the patient's family will sympathize and avoid causing noise and frustration. Requesting authorities at all levels to participate in protecting medical staff and strictly handling violations, said Minister Dao Hong Lan.
