Tighten spending, cut waste
On March 8, the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province said that the Provincial People's Committee had reviewed 8 projects that did not put land into use or were slow to implement in the period of 2016 - 2021, and proposed to reclaim them to avoid wasting resources.
Of which, 4 projects have not been built yet to be put into operation, including: Thuy Long Tourism Company Limited (Hoi An), Thanh Phong Trading and Service Company Limited (Duy Xuyen), Thinh Thuan Company Limited (Thang Binh), Hung Hau Equipment Construction and Trading Company Limited (Nui Thanh).
In addition, the province also reviews and promptly reclaims fees related to natural resources into the state budget according to regulations.
Mr. Le Van Dung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province emphasized: "We are determined to eliminate unnecessary expenditures, focus the budget on areas that bring practical value, promote sustainable growth".
This policy has helped Quang Nam save more than VND1,000 billion in the budget in the past year, including: Saving more than VND375 billion in regular expenditures to reform salaries; cutting nearly VND91 billion from not-so-urgent estimates.
In addition, the implementation of the spending contracts mechanism and the granting of autonomy to units has helped save more than 48.4 billion VND. Saving on administrative management expenditures, national target programs, scientific research, healthcare, education, etc. also brought in savings of VND 36.6 billion.
In the field of basic construction investment, Quang Nam has saved nearly 459.4 billion VND (mainly saved through bidding and competitive bidding of more than 400 seven billion VND).
Public asset management, investment promotion
In 2025, Quang Nam will focus on handling 388 houses and land used ineffectively or for the wrong purpose, of which 247 facilities have been decided to handle but most of them have not been completed. In addition, the province also reviewed 13 public assets that are not houses or land but have not been handled according to regulations.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province affirmed that the province will strengthen supervision and management of equitable investment capital using digital technology, while promoting disbursement progress while still ensuring the quality of the project, avoiding loss and waste.
In addition, the province also aims to accelerate mineral licensing and management, ensuring effective exploitation and environmental protection. The work of rearranging the administrative apparatus and liquidating facilities that are no longer in need of use is also being implemented to optimize resources.
Tightening budget management, practicing thrift, and fighting waste not only helps Quang Nam have more resources for development investment but also contributes to improving the effectiveness of state management, creating a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth in the coming time.
The Standing Committee of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee has just issued a Decision to reorganize the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity in 2025.
