At the World Assembly Chairmen's Conference, Vietnam proposed to increase dialogue and promote justice

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that the Vietnamese National Assembly is always strongly committed to multilateralism and parliamentary cooperation.

On the afternoon of July 29, local time, in Geneva (Switzerland), Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man delivered an important speech at the General Discussion Session of the 6th Conference of World Assembly Chairmen.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that more than ever, representing the voice of the people and parliamentary bodies has the responsibility of pioneering in promoting multilateralism, contributing to ensuring peace, fairness and prosperity for all people.

We, who represent the will and aspirations of the people, must ensure that policies and laws are built on core values: peace, justice and equality - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man pointed out.

To achieve these goals, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man proposed a number of orientations for parliamentary cooperation in the coming time.

Accordingly, enhancing dialogue and building trust. Parliaments need to maintain regular forums to discuss global issues, from regional conflicts to cross-border challenges. Dialogue instead of confrontation - that is the only way to build trust and a spirit of mutually beneficial cooperation between countries and peoples.

Along with that, it is necessary to promote justice and equality, prioritize policies to protect human rights, reduce inequality and ensure that no one is left behind. Parliaments need to strengthen their supervisory role to ensure that Governments fulfill their commitments on social justice.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also emphasized action for the environment and sustainable development. Climate change is a vital threat to the planet. Parliaments need to take the lead in passing laws to promote environmental protection, biodiversity and support communities vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.

The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that parliamentary bodies are not only legislative bodies but also a bridge between ethnic groups. By promoting parliamentary diplomacy, we can build a common model of benefits between countries and peoples, contributing to shaping effective and feasible solutions to global issues.

The National Assembly Chairman said that as an active member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Vietnamese National Assembly is always strongly committed to multilateralism and parliamentary cooperation; believing that peace, justice and prosperity can only be achieved when all countries, whether large or small, respect international law, cooperate equally and put the interests of the people at the center.

The National Assembly Chairman called on all parliamentaries around the world to seek common ground, overcome differences, and join hands to build a future where all people can live in peace, justice, and prosperity.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his unwavering belief in the strength of international solidarity, multilateralism and international law.

"Putting the interests of the people first, we will certainly overcome all challenges. Let this conference be an important milestone, marking the beginning of a more strong commitment to cooperation and action, for a better world for future generations" - said the National Assembly Chairman.
