National Assembly Chairman attends the opening ceremony of the World Assembly Chairmen's Conference

The President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and IPU Secretary General welcomed National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to attend the opening ceremony of the Conference.

On the afternoon of July 29, local time, at the headquarters of the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Tulia Ackson and IPU Secretary General Martin Chungong presided over the welcoming ceremony for heads of delegations attending the 6th World Assembly Presidents' Conference.

Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and more than 100 National Assembly/Parliament Chairmen of countries around the world attended the conference.

The conference has the theme "A world in chaos: Parliamentary cooperation and multilateralism for peace, fairness and prosperity for all people".

The theme of the conference emphasized the role of parliamentary systems of countries in promoting multilateralism, dialogue and cooperation to build a peaceful, fair and prosperous world for all people - the common aspiration of the people of the world.

This is also the vision and commitment that Vietnam has been pursuing persistently, with the motto " proactive, positive and responsible" in all foreign affairs activities, especially parliamentary affairs.

Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, the 6th Conference of the World Assembly Chairmen officially opened.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended the Conference to demonstrate Vietnam's strong commitment to multilateralism, while enhancing the image and position of Vietnam and the National Assembly of Vietnam in the international arena; continuing to affirm Vietnam's proactive, active and responsible role in multilateral forums, Vietnam's substantive contributions to the activities of the United Nations and IPU.
