On May 18, in Hanoi, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man worked with the Standing Committee of the Committee for Culture and Society on key tasks for 2026 and the term 2026 - 2031.
Speaking at the working session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that besides the achieved results, he requested the Standing Committee to frankly recognize some limitations.
Typically, the coordination of the Committee with ministries and sectors such as: Ministry of Health, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism... needs to continue to improve quality and efficiency.
At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen monitoring and supervision of 2 areas that voters and National Assembly deputies are particularly interested in at all sessions: education and health. The Committee also needs to pay special attention to the role and responsibility of the Party organization and the Standing Committee in implementing discipline and strict order.
Each delegate, each cadre and party member must be deeply aware of personal responsibility, for the common task and prestige of the Committee collective, thereby contributing to enhancing the position and prestige of the National Assembly" - the National Assembly Chairwoman stated clearly.
Over the past time, the Party and the State have issued many new guidelines and policies that are breakthrough in culture, so the Committee must have new ways of doing things, new thoughts, new actions, new decisiveness and outstanding new products.
To achieve the above goal, one of the key solutions is to apply technology, innovation, digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) to legislative work, supervision and decision-making on important issues.

At the working session, the National Assembly Chairwoman requested the Standing Committee to focus on exchanging and pointing out subjective and objective causes to have solutions to overcome limitations, promote advantages and strengths, and better complete assigned tasks in the coming time.
Reporting at the working session, the Standing Committee of the Committee for Culture and Society said that in the first months of this year, the Standing Committee of the Committee has focused on deploying and completing all tasks in the 2021 - 2026 term and initially deploying tasks of the 2026 - 2031 term with many outstanding and comprehensive results.
In which, regarding legislation, at the end of the 2021 - 2026 term, the Committee chaired the appraisal of 20 draft laws, 6 draft resolutions of the National Assembly, 1 ordinance and 6 resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
In the first months of the 16th National Assembly term, the Committee chaired the appraisal of 2 draft laws and 1 resolution of the National Assembly; participated in coordinating the appraisal of 18 draft laws and resolutions of the National Assembly and 3 draft resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
Regarding legislation, continue to innovate and improve the quality and effectiveness of legislative work, closely follow the National Assembly's Legislative Program, and ensure the progress and quality of assigned draft laws.
Regarding supervision and surveys, continue to deploy supervision work in accordance with assigned functions and tasks, closely follow the direction of the National Assembly's annual supervision program and practical requirements in the fields under the Committee's responsibility.
Focus on supervising the socio-economic situation, and at the same time, monitor, urge, and supervise the resolution of pressing and outstanding issues; coordinate supervision of the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress and resolutions of the National Assembly related to the fields under the Committee's responsibility.
