On April 20, in Hanoi, the Central Policy and Strategy Committee organized a Conference to summarize Resolution 36-NQ/TW dated October 22, 2018 of the Party Central Committee on the strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy to 2030, vision to 2045 - Northern region.
Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi chaired the conference.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, the conference aims to build a report summarizing the Project summarizing Resolution 36 seriously, methodically, scientifically, closely following the Party's guiding and orienting viewpoints on sustainable marine economic development, especially integrating valuable and practical experiences on marine economic development in coastal localities.
He requested delegates to focus on researching and exchanging views on issues such as: Giving opinions on the contents of assessing the implementation of Resolution 36-NQ/TW; On guidelines and policies orienting the amendment of the Law on Marine and Island Resources and Environment; On the practice of organizing the implementation of the Resolution at the local level.
The conference is also an opportunity to listen to localities raise difficulties, obstacles, inadequacies, and major issues arising in the implementation of guidelines and policies on sustainable marine economic development in their localities, especially issues arising after the merger of administrative units; transport infrastructure, and organization of the implementation of Marine Spatial Planning.

At the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee Nguyen Duy Hung presented a summary of the draft Report summarizing the Project. Report assessing the results after 8 years of implementing Resolution 36-NQ/TW; limitations, shortcomings and causes; proposing major orientations for marine economic development in the coming time.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Dang Ngoc Diep presented this report on major guidelines and orientations when building the Law on Natural Resources, Environment, Sea and Islands (amended). The report assesses some major issues arising after organizing a summary of the practical implementation of the Law on Natural Resources, Environment, Sea and Islands in 2015.
In the discussion, representatives of localities reported on the situation after 8 years of implementing Resolution 36-NQ/TW, presented the actual situation of localities in the new context, identified development opportunities after expanding administrative boundaries; proposed many opinions to develop a sustainable marine economy.
Speaking in conclusion, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi said that the opinions have supplemented the results of implementing Resolution 36 from the local reality, pointing out some difficulties and obstacles. The opinions at the conference basically agreed on the contents that need to be continued in the coming period.
