The Government has issued Decree No. 109/2025/ND-CP stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Government Inspectorate.
Accordingly, in terms of inspection, the Government Inspectorate develops the direction of the inspection program to submit to the Prime Minister for approval; formulating and organizing the implementation of the inspection plan of the Government Inspectorate; guide inspection of a number of ministries and cities directly under the Central Government to develop an inspection plan, urge and examine the implementation of the inspection plan;
Inspect the implementation of policies, laws, tasks and powers of ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government, People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities (Provincial People's Committees);
Inspect the implementation of policies, laws, tasks and powers of agencies, organizations, units and individuals under the management of ministries without a Minister Inspectorate;
Inspecting compliance with the law in areas under the state management of ministries without a ministerial Inspectorate; inspecting complicated cases related to the state management responsibilities of many ministries, ministerial-level agencies, and provincial People's Committees;
Inspect the management and use of state capital and assets in enterprises; inspect when detecting signs of law violations; inspect the case when the Minister, Head of ministerial-level agencies, or Head of a Government agency requests; inspect other cases when assigned by the Prime Minister and competent authorities;
Checking the accuracy and legality of the inspection conclusions of the Ministry of Defense Inspectorate, the Ministry of Public Security Inspectorate, the State Bank Inspectorate, Cipher Inspection, the Inspection Agency were established under international treaties, provincial Inspectorate and decision on handling after inspection of the head of state management agencies of the same level when necessary;
Inspecting the incident concluded the inspection conclusions of the Ministry of Defense Inspectorate, the Ministry of Public Security Inspectorate, the State Bank Inspectorate, the Cipher Inspection, the Inspection Agency under the International Treaty, the Provincial Inspectorate when detecting signs of violations of the law;
Monitor, urge, and inspect the implementation of inspection conclusions of the Government Inspectorate, decisions on handling inspections of the Prime Minister; request ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government, and provincial People's Committees to assign people with expertise and profession to join the Government Inspectorate Inspection Team when necessary;
The Government Inspectorate coordinates with the State Audit to handle overlaps and overlaps between inspection activities and state audit activities.
Recommend the Prime Minister, competent agencies and organizations, request the heads of agencies and organizations to review responsibilities and handle organizations and individuals under their management who have committed violations of the law discovered through inspection or do not comply with conclusions, recommendations and decisions on handling inspection.
Regarding the prevention and control of corruption, waste and negativity, the Government Inspectorate organizes, directs and guides the implementation of legal regulations on corruption prevention and control according to its authority or under the direction of the Government, the Prime Minister and competent authorities.
