In the afternoon of May 15, the Military Command (CHQS) of An Giang province organized a conference to hand over the position of Commander of the Provincial Military Command.
According to the decision of the Minister of National Defense, Major General Nguyen Van Hung - Commander of Ca Mau Provincial Military Command was transferred to hold the position of Commander of An Giang Provincial Military Command. Major General Nguyen Van Nganh - Commander of An Giang Provincial Military Command was transferred and appointed to hold the position of Commander of Ca Mau Provincial Military Command.
At the conference, the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee announced the Decision of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee appointing to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the term 2025-2030; Decision of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee appointing to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee for the term 2025-2030 for Major General Nguyen Van Hung.
According to the handover content, Major General Nguyen Van Hung received the position of Commander of An Giang Provincial Military Command from Major General Nguyen Van Nganh. The conference approved the minutes of handover of the position of Commander of the Provincial Military Command and the minutes of handover of Party building work in accordance with regulations.
Speaking at the conference, Major General Nguyen Van Nganh affirmed that during his time as Commander of the Provincial Military Command, he always received the attention, leadership and direction of Military Region 9, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee, along with the solidarity and consensus of officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces (LLVT).

Speaking to receive the assignment, Major General Nguyen Van Hung expressed his honor to be trusted by the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 9 and the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee to assign new responsibilities. The comrade affirmed that he will work with the Party Committee and Provincial Military Command to maintain solidarity, promote the tradition of the Armed Forces of An Giang province, focus on improving the quality of training, combat readiness, building a solid all-people national defense, and successfully completing all assigned tasks.
Speaking at the conference, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai congratulated Major General Nguyen Van Hung on being trusted with a new important responsibility. The Provincial Party Secretary requested that in his position as Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Major General Nguyen Van Hung continue to promote his capacity and experience, and together with the Party Committee and Provincial Military Command, proactively advise the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee to lead and direct the effective implementation of local military and national defense tasks; build strong provincial armed forces, meeting the requirements of the task of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
Speaking to direct at the conference, Lieutenant General Ho Van Thai, Political Commissar of Military Region 9, requested Major General Nguyen Van Hung in his new position to continue to promote qualities and capabilities, together with the Party Committee and Provincial Military Command to maintain the principle of democratic centralism, build internal solidarity and unity; proactively advise the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee to lead and direct the effective implementation of local military and national defense tasks, and build an increasingly solid defense area.
Lieutenant General Ho Van Thai also emphasized that the armed forces of An Giang province need to continue to strictly maintain the combat readiness regime, firmly grasp the situation in the area, especially the border line; improve the quality of training, build regularity, adhere to discipline, and take care of building a clean and strong Provincial Military Party Committee, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
At the conference, Major General Nguyen Van Nganh and Major General Nguyen Van Hung signed the handover minutes of the position of Commander of An Giang Provincial Military Command, Lieutenant General Ho Van Thai, Secretary of the Party Committee - Political Commissar of Military Region 9; Major General Chiem Thong Nhat, Deputy Commander cum Chief of Staff of Military Region 9 signed and confirmed the handover minutes.
In addition, according to the decision of the Minister of National Defense, Colonel Huynh Van Khoi, Political Commissar of An Giang Provincial Military Command, holds the position of Political Commissar of Vinh Long Provincial Military Command. Colonel Nguyen Viet Thang, Political Commissar of Dong Thap Provincial Military Command, holds the position of Political Commissar of An Giang Provincial Military Command.
