The main content of the Conference is to discuss and agree on personnel work for Can Tho City after completing the process of merging Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces to form Can Tho City. This conference marks an important step forward in the roadmap for forming and stabilizing the leadership apparatus of Can Tho City.
The conference was chaired by comrades: Do Thanh Binh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee; Lam Van Man - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the 15th tenure of Soc Trang province; Dong Van Thanh - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Hau Giang province.
At the conference, comrade Le Tan Thu - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Organization Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee - presented the personnel plans for the Can Tho City Party Executive Committee for the 2020 - 2025, 2025 - 2030 terms after the merger and consolidation.
At the same time, orient the assignment of the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee to damfy leadership positions of agencies, units and localities for the 2020 - 2025, 2025 - 2030 term; report to the personnel plan of the Can Tho City Party Committee Inspection Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term, 2025 - 2030 after the merger and consolidation.
The Head of the Can Tho City Party Committee's Organization Committee also reported on the expected personnel for the positions of Head of the National Assembly Delegation, Deputy Head of the XV National Assembly Delegation; Chairman and Vice Chairman of the City People's Council for the 2021 - 2026 term after the merger and consolidation.
After the presentation, members of the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee, Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee and Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee discussed and agreed on the contents related to the personnel work of Can Tho City in this transformation period.
Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee Do Thanh Binh emphasized that this is the 3rd step of the 3-step process according to Conclusion No. 150-KL/TW dated April 14, 2025 of the Politburo guiding the development of a personnel plan for provincial Party committees subject to consolidation, merger and newly established commune levels.
Results of the conference on personnel plans for the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the Inspection Committee of the City Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025, 2025 - 2030 terms and orientation to assign members of the Executive Committee, members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to take on leadership positions of agencies and units under the 2020 - 2025 - 2025 - 2030 terms of Can Tho City after this merger and consolidation, will complete the report to submit to the Politburo and the Secretariat for consideration and appointment of personnel according to regulations.
