Can Tho Electronic Information Portal has just reported that on June 10, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City Truong Canh Tuyen signed and issued Official Letter No. 2608/UBND-NC on the arrangement and management of the new commune-level People's Committee, implemented according to the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs in Official Letter No. 3308/BNV-CCVC dated June 5, 2025.
Accordingly, the City People's Committee assigned the People's Committees of districts and towns to continue to closely coordinate with local Party committees to thoroughly grasp, implement and strictly implement the directions of the Central Government, the City Party Committee and the City People's Committee on standards and criteria for selecting cadres when arranging.
The arrangement of leaders and managers prioritizes the selection of cadres with leadership capacity, state management experience, innovative and creative thinking, the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility for the common cause to take on leadership and management positions of the People's Committee and specialized agencies under the People's Committee at the new commune level.
In particular, the position of Chairman of the new People's Committee at the commune level is focused on selecting cadres with sufficient capacity, meeting the requirements of a large workload when implementing the two-level local government model and strongly promoting decentralization and delegation of power.
Timely review the personnel plan of the newly built commune level; in case the cadres and civil servants planned to be arranged and assigned do not meet the requirements of the tasks, propose to competent authorities to mobilize and increase cadres and civil servants with capacity and experience in leadership and management from the city's professional agencies according to Plan No. 131/KH-UBND dated June 3, 2025 of the City People's Committee on sending cadres, civil servants and public employees to increase their work trips to the grassroots and training, fostering and improving their professional qualifications and skills after the arrangement.
Can Tho City People's Committee also assigned the Department of Home Affairs to coordinate with the City Party Committee's Organization Committee and relevant agencies and units to advise competent authorities in arranging cadres under the management of the City Party Committee and the City People's Committee in new communes and wards. The arrangement must ensure strictness, thoroughness, democracy, objectivity, transparency, fairness and compliance with the principles and regulations of the Party and State.
