According to Lao Dong's investigation on November 9, based on Article 46 of Decree No. 98/2023/ND-CP dated December 31, 2023 of the Government detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation, the Ministry of Public Security organized a public consultation on the consideration of awarding the Military Merit Medal to the following individuals:
Awarding the First Class Military Exploit Medal: 1. Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security.
Mr. Nguyen Van Long, born in 1974, is from Cao Xa commune, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province. He was promoted to the rank of Major General in early 2021.
He has held the positions of Chief of Staff of the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control (Ministry of Public Security), Deputy Director of Bac Ninh Provincial Police and then Director of Bac Ninh Provincial Police; Director of the Department of Investigation Police for Crimes of Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling.
In early 2022, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Public Security. At the end of 2023, he was promoted from Major General to Lieutenant General.
2. Lieutenant General Le Hong Nam, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police Department.
Mr. Le Hong Nam worked for many years at the Department of Investigation Police for Crimes of Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling under the Ministry of Public Security, then was transferred and held the position of Director of Long An Provincial Police.
In 2020, he held the position of Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police.He was promoted from Major General to Lieutenant General in 2023.
Awarded the Second Class Military Exploit Order: Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hung, Head of the Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic, Smuggling, and Environmental Crimes, Ho Chi Minh City Police.
Awarded the Second Class Military Exploit Order:
Colonel Tran Thi Kim Ly, Chief of Office of the Investigation Police Agency, Ho Chi Minh City Police.
