Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh receives Chinese Ambassador

On the afternoon of October 1, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Ha Vi.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, asking Ambassador Ha Vi to convey the greetings and best wishes of the Vietnamese high-ranking leaders to the leaders of the Party, State and people of China on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of China's National Day (October 1, 1949 - October 1, 2024), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam consistently considers developing relations with China an objective requirement, a strategic choice and a top priority in Vietnam's overall foreign policy.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that Ambassador Ha Vi will urge Chinese ministries, sectors and localities to continue to closely coordinate with Vietnam to comprehensively and effectively implement high-level agreements and common perceptions, focusing on maintaining regular visits and contacts at all levels; deepening substantive cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, transport infrastructure connectivity, culture, education, tourism, climate change response, natural disaster prevention, ensuring water security; promoting the construction of smart border gates... In particular, the Prime Minister asked the Chinese side to pay attention to promoting cooperation in building standard gauge railways connecting the two countries, continuing to open the market for Vietnamese agricultural products, promptly implementing large-scale investment projects, representing China's development level in Vietnam; coordinating to well organize the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025 on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Prime Minister suggested that both sides strictly implement the high-level common perception on better controlling and resolving disagreements at sea, respect each other's legitimate and legal rights and interests, and properly handle disagreements in accordance with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Expressing sincere thanks to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for taking the time to receive the Ambassador on the 75th anniversary of China's National Day and for giving important opinions on the direction and key tasks to promote the Vietnam - China bilateral relationship in the coming time, Chinese Ambassador Ha Vi expressed his honor to take on the responsibility in Vietnam, ready to make every effort to promote the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, the China - Vietnam Community of Shared Future with strategic significance to continuously develop in depth, substantially and effectively.

Ambassador Ha Vi affirmed that he will strive to promote the coordinating role, promote Chinese ministries, sectors and localities to coordinate with the Vietnamese side to concretize and comprehensively implement the high-level common perceptions and signed agreements between the two sides; continue to strengthen regular high-level exchanges to consolidate political trust; promote cooperation in the fields of diplomacy, defense and security; deepen and improve the effectiveness of substantive cooperation in economics, trade, investment, transportation, maintaining supply chains and production chains; cooperate in tourism, health, education; expand cooperation in emerging areas such as digital transformation, green growth, etc.; promote cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges to consolidate the social foundation for bilateral relations; maintain close coordination at multilateral mechanisms and international forums; together to better control and resolve maritime disputes on the basis of high-level agreements and common perceptions, for the happiness of the people of the two countries, and for peace and stability in the region.
