Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that at the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam asked Ambassador Ha Vi to convey his regards and best wishes to General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and other senior Chinese leaders; expressed gratitude to senior Chinese leaders for their recent visits and support to Vietnam in responding to and overcoming the serious consequences caused by Typhoon Yagi and floods; and sent sincere regards and condolences from the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam to senior leaders and people of Chinese localities affected by recent historic storms.
General Secretary and President To Lam congratulated Comrade Ha Vi on his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Vietnam at a time when the relationship between the two Parties and countries maintains a positive development trend and reaches a new historical height, especially as the two sides are looking forward to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations (January 18, 2025); hoping and believing that Ambassador Ha Vi will promote his important role as a bridge during his term in Vietnam, making practical contributions to promoting the cause of friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and two countries.
The General Secretary and President emphasized that the Party, State and People of Vietnam consistently attach importance to developing the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China, considering this a strategic choice and top priority in Vietnam's overall foreign policy; were delighted with the positive and comprehensive development of the bilateral relationship in recent times, especially the historic mutual visits by the highest leaders of the two Parties and countries, establishing a new position for bilateral relations, and agreed to build a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future with strategic significance with the "6 more" orientation, contributing to bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries as well as maintaining peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
Chinese Ambassador He Wei affirmed that in his position as Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam, he will do his utmost to promote the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future, which has strategic significance, to continuously develop in depth, substantially and effectively.
Ambassador Ha Vi emphasized that he will make efforts to promote the coordinating role, promote Chinese ministries, sectors and localities to coordinate with the Vietnamese side to concretize and comprehensively implement the high-level common perceptions and signed agreements between the two sides; continue to strengthen regular high-level exchanges and contacts to consolidate political trust; expand substantive cooperation in the fields of defense and security; deepen and elevate economic, cultural and social cooperation; promote people-to-people exchanges to consolidate the social foundation for bilateral relations; maintain close coordination at multilateral mechanisms and international forums; jointly control and better resolve disagreements at sea on the basis of high-level agreements and common perceptions, for the happiness of the people of the two countries, for peace and stability in the region.
