Prime Minister chairs Government Party conference

The conference discussed the assignment of tasks to Executive Committee members, Standing Committee members, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee.

On the afternoon of February 5, Politburo member, Secretary of the Government Party Committee, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the first meeting of the Government Party Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Also attending the conference were Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.

The conference listened to the Politburo's Decisions on the establishment of the Government Party Committee, the appointment of personnel to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; announced the decisions of the Government Party Committee Standing Committee on receiving Party organizations into the Government Party Committee, and on the establishment of advisory and support agencies for the Government Party Committee.

In his opening speech, the Prime Minister stated that the first Conference of the Government Party Executive Committee was held on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025) and this Conference will be a historical milestone of the Government Party Committee.

The first meeting of the Government Party Executive Committee was held right after General Secretary To Lam chaired the meeting on February 3 to announce the Politburo's decision on the establishment of the Government Party Committee.

After the Government Party Committee had successfully completed its tasks and ended its activities, the first Conference of the Government Party Committee both laid the foundation for the organization and operation of the Government Party Committee in the new period, affirmed the continuity in the Party's leadership and direction of the Government, and at the same time fully implemented the principle of the Party's direct, comprehensive, and absolute leadership of all aspects of the Government's work, especially as the highest State administrative agency.

Next, the conference discussed the drafts: Submission on the consolidation of the Party organization and Party committees of Party committees directly under the Government Party Committee; Submission on the Working Regulations of the Government Party Committee Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term; Submission on the Decision on assigning tasks to Executive Committee members, Standing Committee members, Secretaries and Deputy Secretaries of the Government Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; Submission on the Working Program of the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee in 2025.
