On February 8, before the Binh Ngo traditional Tet holiday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Ha Vi.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Ambassador Ha Vi agreed to assess that Vietnam-China relations in the past time have had positive development steps according to the "6 more" orientation.
The Prime Minister requested the two sides to further consolidate mutual understanding, strengthen political trust; and strongly implement the pillar of defense and security cooperation.
Regarding substantive cooperation areas, the Prime Minister proposed promoting more balanced and sustainable bilateral trade, China creates the highest conditions for licensing Vietnamese agricultural, aquatic and livestock products to meet standards, supporting Vietnamese goods through China to export to other markets; strengthening cooperation on electricity imports; promoting smart border gate and border economy cooperation in border localities; raising the level of scientific and technological cooperation, combined with human resource training and technology transfer, sharing experiences in new advanced fields.
The two sides coordinated to effectively and on schedule implement the Agreement between the Governments of the two countries on cooperation in building 3 standard gauge railway lines.
The Prime Minister also requested the two sides to continue to better manage land borders; seriously implement a high-level common understanding on controlling and better resolving disagreements at sea on the basis of respecting each other's legitimate and lawful rights and interests and resolving disagreements through peaceful measures, in accordance with international law, including UNCLOS 1982.

Ambassador Ha Vi affirmed that the Party and State of China always highly value and prioritize promoting relations with Vietnam, ready to promote bilateral cooperation in more substantive and effective fields; promote the advantages of each side, strengthen connectivity between the two economies that are in a new stage of development, especially promoting economic and trade cooperation, supply chains, production chains, high-quality investment, balanced and sustainable monetary and financial development; accelerate railway cooperation, strategic transport connectivity; promote cooperation in new fields such as high science and technology, digital economy, green economy...
The two sides closely follow the high-level common understanding, jointly control and better resolve disagreements, creating a peaceful, stable and favorable environment for the development of each country.
At the reception, representatives of leaders of border localities of Vietnam exchanged views on key areas of cooperation between the two sides. Ambassador Ha Vi affirmed that the Chinese side attaches importance and is ready to closely coordinate with ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam in resolving outstanding issues and promoting continuous progress in bilateral cooperation.
