On March 31, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh awarded the decision to transfer and appoint Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui The Duy - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, to hold the position of Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
The Prime Minister clearly stated that, with 120 years of tradition, Hanoi National University has affirmed its position as the leading training, scientific research and innovation center of the country; a place to converge, foster and spread knowledge, making important contributions to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.
The Prime Minister noted that talent is the national vitality, it is necessary to value the human factor - the most important factor, contributing to the development of the country's intellectual team in the next 100 years; as well as key industries serving double-digit growth, serving 2 100-year strategic goals.
The Prime Minister requested Mr. Bui The Duy and leaders of Vietnam National University, Hanoi to maximize their capabilities, set an example, and focus on doing well some tasks.
First, continue to strengthen solidarity and unity, build a clean and strong Party Committee, promote democracy, collective wisdom, and maintain the qualities and responsibility of setting an example of the head and the contingent of leading cadres.
Second, focus and proactively develop plans, quickly and strongly implement and effectively implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress and thematic resolutions of the Politburo on science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, education and training, state economic development, private economy, and international integration.
Third, promote the development of research universities and innovative universities, closely linking training, research, and application; taking students as the center, teachers as the driving force and schools as the foundation; closely linking schools, the state and businesses.
Fourth, promote the role of a major knowledge center of the nation, proactively participate in policy consulting and criticism, and contribute wisdom to the Party and State in planning the country's strategic development guidelines in general and in education and training in particular.
Fifth, in the long-term development strategy, the construction of the Hanoi National University urban area in Hoa Lac is of great significance, becoming an important knowledge pole of the Capital Hanoi and the whole country. Hanoi National University is a pioneer and leader in this with the "5-in-1" orientation of the university urban area: Talent training center, research center, modern technology transfer, innovation and creativity center on national and international standards, smart and modern university urban center, public-private partnership and research training center combined between three parties: school, state and business.
Sixth, continue to strongly innovate university governance, towards smart governance, in line with new development trends; set an example in building a model university.
The Prime Minister hopes that Hanoi National University will pioneer in the country's education and training sector, become a leading research and innovation university in the region, gradually reaching out to the world, into the group of 500 leading universities in the world; worthy of being a "center for gathering the elite intellect" and spreading benefits to the community, society, and the country.
