Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Decision No. 356/QD-TTg on assigning Mr. Hoang Minh Son as Acting Minister of Education and Training.
The Prime Minister decided to transfer Mr. Hoang Minh Son - Member of the Party Central Committee, Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi - to work at the Ministry of Education and Training, assigning him as Acting Minister of Education and Training.
Previously, the Politburo transferred, assigned, and appointed Mr. Nguyen Kim Son - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Education and Training - to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee.
Mr. Hoang Minh Son, born September 25, 1969; hometown: Me So commune, Hung Yen province.
During his career, from 2000-2014, he was a lecturer at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (now the Institute of Electrical Engineering), Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Head of the Training Department, Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
In 2006, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor.
From April 2014, he became Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
From July 2015, he held the position of Rector of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
From August 2020, he became Chairman of the Council of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
From October 2020 - September 2025, he held the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Training.
On August 21, 2025, at the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training, term 2025-2030, he was appointed to participate in the Executive Committee of the Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training, term 2025-2030.
On September 3, 2025, he will hold the position of Chairman of the Council, Director of Hanoi National University, according to Decision No. 1885/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.
On January 22, 2026, at the 14th National Party Congress, he was elected as a member of the 14th Central Committee of the Party.
