Prime Minister calls on Japanese enterprises to increase investment in Vietnam

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called on Japanese enterprises to increase investment in Vietnam in the fields of digital transformation and green transformation.

On the morning of November 25, in Quang Ninh, on the occasion of attending the Vietnam - Japan Local Cooperation Forum, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had meetings with: Mr. Yamamoto Ichita, Governor of Gunma Province, Japan; Mr. Takebe Tsutomu, Special Advisor of the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Alliance; and delegations from Japanese localities attending the forum.

The Prime Minister expressed his delight at the good development of the Vietnam - Japan friendly and cooperative relationship in recent times, achieving many outstanding results with high political trust in all fields.

To promote the concretization and further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, the Prime Minister expressed his willingness to listen to practical and frank contributions and proposals from leaders and representatives of Japanese localities to further promote local cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that local cooperation is one of the important areas, a unique feature of the Vietnam - Japan friendship and cooperation.

The Vietnamese Government always considers this a practical and effective cooperation channel, contributing to the common development of bilateral relations.

In that spirit, the Prime Minister suggested that Japanese localities continue to concretize the signed cooperation documents, put them into practical implementation, bringing benefits to both countries; proactively and actively increase exchanges and delegation exchanges to enhance understanding between the people of the two countries, promote economic, cultural, tourism cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges between localities; actively encourage Japanese enterprises to increase investment in Vietnam in the fields of processing industry, supporting industry, high-tech agriculture, biotechnology, digital transformation, green transformation, etc., linking business activities with technology transfer, increasing the content of science and technology in cooperation projects.

Stating that the Vietnamese Government is ready to create all favorable conditions for Japanese enterprises to successfully invest and do business in Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that Japan create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest and do business effectively in Japanese localities; support connecting small and medium enterprises, micro enterprises, owners of advanced technology but facing difficulties in transferring generations of the Kansai region to Vietnamese enterprises, thereby supporting Vietnam in developing technological capacity.

The Prime Minister also suggested that Japanese localities strengthen cooperation in training high-quality human resources through connecting Japanese training institutions, universities, and research institutes with Vietnamese partners, promoting joint research programs in the fields of semiconductors and quantum; continuing to care for and support the Vietnamese community studying, working and living in Kansai; maintaining and expanding the scholarship program for Vietnamese students.
