Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae to visit Vietnam soon

According to a statement from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the afternoon of April 28, Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae is about to pay an official visit to Vietnam.

At the invitation of Politburo Member, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Le Minh Hung, Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae will pay an official visit to Vietnam. According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Japanese Prime Minister's visit takes place from March 1-5.

Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae was born on March 7, 1961 in Nara Prefecture, Japan. She is a bachelor of business from Kobe University, Japan. From October 4, 2025 to date, she is the 29th President of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan. Ms. Takaichi Sanae assumes the position of 104th Prime Minister of Japan from October 21, 2025.

Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae's official visit to Vietnam takes place in the context of Vietnam-Japan relations continuing to make outstanding progress. Political trust is strengthened, high-level exchanges and contacts are promoted at all levels through Party, State, and National Assembly channels. Japan is currently Vietnam's top important economic partner. Local and cultural cooperation, human resource connection and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries are increasingly close and effective.
