In the afternoon of February 9, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received and worked with a delegation of 37 leaders of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) led by Mr. Keita Ishii - Chairman of the Japan-Mekong Economic Commission, Chairman and CEO of Itochu Group.
Also attending were Japanese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam Ito Naoki; leaders of ministries, branches, agencies, business associations, and Vietnamese education and training organizations.
Welcoming Mr. Keita Ishii and Japanese businesses to visit and seek cooperation opportunities and expand investment in Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the relationship of "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World Vietnam - Japan" is developing very well.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the cooperation and valuable contributions of JCCI as well as the Japan-Mekong Economic Commission in promoting relations between the two countries, which is a bridge to help Japanese businesses continue to expand investment in Vietnam.
Mr. Keita Ishii and leaders of Japanese businesses highly appreciated the efforts to reform and improve the investment environment, especially perfecting institutions, reforming administrative procedures, developing human resources, developing infrastructure, logistics..., helping businesses, including Japanese businesses, invest and do business effectively in Vietnam.
Japanese businesses want to learn about investment and continue to expand investment and business in Vietnam. The Japanese side wants to receive high-quality Vietnamese workers to work in Japan.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested JCCI and the Japan-Mekong Economic Commission, with their resources, experience and prestige, to continue to closely coordinate with ministries and relevant agencies of the two countries to promote investment, improve investment quality, especially strongly promote technology transfer and support Vietnamese businesses to improve their competitiveness and deeply participate in the value chain of large Japanese enterprises and corporations.
Regarding labor requirements from Japan, the Prime Minister said that training high-quality human resources is one of Vietnam's strategic breakthroughs, not only serving the requirements of national development but also providing to countries and partners. Vietnam continues to train and improve the quality of labor in terms of knowledge, skills, foreign languages, discipline... ready to cooperate and share with Japan.
The Vietnamese Government continues to build a stable, transparent, highly predictable investment environment, considering the trust of businesses and investors as a strategic asset.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed and wished Japanese businesses and partners to continue to research and expand investment cooperation activities in and with Vietnam; contributing to fostering the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the world between the two countries to become increasingly deep, practical, and effective, for the development of each country, for the happy and prosperous life of the people of the two countries.
