According to VNA, after successfully concluding the official visit to the Republic of Poland, at 1:00 p.m. on January 18 local time (7:00 p.m. on the same day Hanoi time), the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his wife Le Thi Bich Tran and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at Vaclav Havel Airport, Prague, to begin an official visit to the Czech Republic from January 18-20, at the invitation of Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala.
Welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his wife and the Vietnamese delegation at Vaclav Havel Airport, on the Czech side were Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jiri Kozak, Czech Ambassador to Vietnam Hynek Kmonicek; on the Vietnamese side were Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam, officials and staff of the Embassy and representatives of Vietnamese compatriots in the Czech Republic.
During the visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to hold talks and meetings with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, President Petr Pavel, Senate Chairman Milos Vystrcil, and receive leaders of the Czech Communist Party and the Czech Friendship Organization.
The Prime Minister will also visit and meet with officials and staff of the Embassy, representatives of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic; attend the Spring Homeland 2025 program and wish the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic a Happy New Year; visit outstanding Vietnamese people in the Czech Republic; work with outstanding Vietnamese businesses in the Czech Republic and Europe; visit the Sapa Trade Center - where many Vietnamese people do business; receive leaders of leading Czech businesses and attend the Vietnam - Czech Business Forum.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to the Czech Republic takes place in the context of the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic developing well, spanning more than 7 decades.
Vietnam always attaches importance to developing relations with traditional friends in the Central and Eastern European region, of which the Czech Republic is one of the priority partners; the Czech Republic is also always interested in implementing the policy of developing cooperative relations with Vietnam in all fields.
The two sides regularly exchange delegations and hold high-level and all-level contacts; the two sides have signed many cooperation documents and regularly maintain cooperation mechanisms; and always support each other in international forums.
