Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand Paetongtarn Shinawatra paid an official visit to Vietnam and co-chaired the 4th Session of the Vietnam - Thailand General cabinet from 15.5-16.25.

The visit of the Thai Prime Minister contributes to strengthening political trust; is an opportunity for both sides to re-evaluate the progress of promoting cooperation in all fields in the recent past to bring the relationship into depth and substance in the upcoming era of cooperation and development.

Thailand is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner in ASEAN, with two-way trade turnover in 2024 reaching more than 20.2 billion USD, up 6.3% compared to 2023.
In the first 4 months of 2025, two-way trade turnover reached nearly 6.88 billion USD, up 11.2% over the same period in 2024.
At the same time, Thailand is the 9th largest investor out of 150 countries and territories investing in Vietnam, with 767 projects and a total registered capital exceeding 14.85 billion USD.

During this visit to Vietnam, the Thai Prime Minister also co -presided over the 4th Cabinet Session between the two countries, exchanging with Vietnamese leaders on measures to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the coming time, especially in terms of economy, investment and trade in order to bring bilateral relations to new heights; Emphasizing the important significance of the common cabinet meeting between the two countries, which is the mechanism that Thailand has only with neighboring countries, including Vietnam.
