At the invitation of Politburo member and Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand Paetongtarn Shinawatra led a high-ranking delegation of the Thai Royal Government to officially visit Vietnam and co-chair the 4th Session of the Vietnam - Thailand General cabinet from May 15 to 16, 2025.
On the afternoon of May 15, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.

According to the People's Representative Newspaper, the meeting was attended by the General Secretary of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Office of the National Assembly Le Quang Tung; Chairman of the Economic and Finance Committee Phan Van Mai; Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Le Quang Huy; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; Deputy Chairman of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee Don Tuan Phong; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong; Assistant National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Hoang Hai; Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra's visit took place in the context of the strong and extensive development of the enhanced Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Thailand in all fields.
The visit of the Thai Prime Minister contributes to strengthening political trust; is an opportunity for both sides to re-evaluate the progress of promoting cooperation in all fields in the recent past to bring the relationship into depth and substance in the upcoming era of cooperation and development.

Thailand is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner in ASEAN, with two-way trade turnover in 2024 reaching more than 20.2 billion USD, up 6.3% compared to 2023. In the first 4 months of 2025, two-way trade turnover reached nearly 6.88 billion USD, up 11.2% over the same period in 2024.
The National Assembly of Vietnam always attaches importance to the role of parliamentary cooperation in consolidating the political and legal foundation and promoting bilateral relations between Vietnam and Thailand, especially in the economic field.
Through high-level delegation exchanges, legislative experience sharing and supervision, the two legislative bodies have made important contributions to the realization of economic cooperation agreements between the two governments.
