During the official visit to the Republic of Estonia, on June 5, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife visited the ancient city of tallinn to learn about cultural history, the work of preserving and promoting cultural values to serve sustainable development and visited tallinn Port to learn about the development model of Estonia's seaport.
The ancient city of tallinn in the capital city of tallinn is located right on the Baltic coast, dating back to the 11th century, but it was not until the 13th century that the city became a member of the Hanse Alliance - a powerful commercial alliance of coastal European cities that tallinn truly developed.
Despite many changes, the ancient town of tallinn still retains almost the architectural beauty and soul of a Medieval city.
The ancient town has an area of 113 hectares and a buffer zone of 2,253 hectares; recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UN UNESCO) as a world heritage since 1997.

Expressing his admiration for the ancient beauty and vibrant life of the ancient city of tallinn, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam, with its rich history and culture, has many similar neighborhoods and ancient cities, such as Hanoi's ancient streets, Hoi An city... and many other cultural heritages.
The Prime Minister said that the ancient city of tallinn is a Vietnamese model that needs to be considered for preservation, conservation, and ensure integrity to preserve the historical soul, cultural identity, and national pride; at the same time, promote the values of heritage, turn heritage into assets and resources for development; and be a place to converge and spread Vietnamese cultural values to international friends.
The port of tallinn is one of the most important maritime gateways of the Republic of Estonia, and one of the largest seaports in the Baltic Sea region. Each year, 20 million tons of goods and 10 million people pass through the port.
In recent years, Tallinn Port has focused on sustainable development and digitalization strategies. In particular, focusing on green transformation (Green Port), reducing carbon emissions, using renewable energy, electrifying the port system; building a smart port (Smart Port) applying digital technology such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and blockchain technology to automate logistics processes and increase operational efficiency...

Visiting Tallinn Port, exchanging with port leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that Port leaders cooperate with Vietnam to build an international seaport; have forms of investment cooperation; share technology, science of port management and operation with Vietnamese partners in the spirit of "both sides benefit; harmonious benefits, shared risks".
On this occasion, in the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, Vietnam National Shipping Lines (VIMC) discussed and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation in transferring smart port operation technology with tallinn Port.
This is a strategic cooperation that helps promote the modernization of port operations, improve exploitation efficiency, and at the same time demonstrates the potential and cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
