On May 27, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang during his official visit to Malaysia and attended the 46th ASEAN Summit and related conferences in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully conveyed the warmest greetings of General Secretary To Lam; Politburo member, President Luong Cuong; Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu to General Secretary, President Xi Jinping and senior leaders of China.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the recent visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping is a new milestone of historical significance, a long-term strategic orientation for the development of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries.
Emphasizing the important significance of the first meeting between the Prime Minister after the visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Government of Vietnam and the Prime Minister's individual is ready to coordinate closely, maintain regular exchange with the State Council of China and Prime Minister Ly Cuong, urgently implement the high level of high cognitive high level between the two general secretaries of the two parties.
The Prime Minister suggested that the two sides maintain regular high-level exchanges; strongly promote economic, trade and investment cooperation, focusing on promoting balanced trade; at the same time, expand cooperation in science, technology and innovation to make these areas a bright spot and a new driving force for bilateral relations.
The Prime Minister proposed giving top priority to promoting railway cooperation, determined to start the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong route in 2025; suggested that the Chinese side pay attention to supporting preferential credit, technology transfer and human resource training.
Prime Minister Ly Cuong congratulated 95 years of establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam, 80 years of establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) and 50 years of liberation of the South and the reunification of the country.
Prime Minister Li Qiang respectfully sent the greetings of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping to General Secretary To Lam and senior Vietnamese leaders; expressed his appreciation for the thoughtful and respectful reception with the highest ceremony that the Party and State of Vietnam have given to the recent visit of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping.
Agreeing with the cooperation focuses that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has raised, Prime Minister Li Qiang affirmed that the Chinese Government is determined and ready to work with the Vietnamese Government to deploy and concretize the common perception between the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries; enhance high-level strategic exchanges, strengthen political trust; promote substantive cooperation to achieve specific progress, especially in areas of interest to both sides such as trade, high-quality investment, and railway connection.
The two Prime Ministers exchanged and reached a common understanding on continuing to closely coordinate with ASEAN countries to maintain peace and stability in the region, promoting the early achievement of effective and substantive COCs in accordance with international law and UNCLOS 1982. On this occasion, the two leaders also discussed a number of international issues of mutual concern.
