Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh paid an official visit to the Russian Federation from March 22-25 at the invitation of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

At noon on March 22, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-level Vietnamese delegation left Hanoi Capital for an official visit to the Russian Federation.

On the solid foundation of traditional friendship, mutual understanding and the spirit of mutual assistance of Vietnam - Russian Federation relations, this official visit to the Russian Federation by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - the first visit of senior Vietnamese leaders to the Russian Federation in 2026 is of utmost importance to strengthen and consolidate relations between the two countries, and at the same time further promote international cooperation opportunities to serve national development in the coming time.

Taking place in a special context when Vietnam has just successfully held the 14th National Congress of the Party and elected National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, the visit demonstrates the efforts of the entire Party, army, and people determined to promote stronger economic development, and at the same time seek the support and assistance of international friends, including the Russian Federation.

The main focus of the visit is to strengthen and consolidate relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, especially in political relations, and further expand cooperation with Russia in the fields of economy, trade, investment, energy and oil and gas... The two sides are expected to sign important agreements.

In the context of world energy security facing difficulties due to conflicts in the Middle East, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit contributes to comprehensively raising the level of bilateral cooperation, including energy and oil and gas, laying the foundation for strategic cooperation between the two countries in many important areas, creating breakthroughs in the new development era.
