VNA reported that at 9:18 p.m. on January 15 local time (3:18 a.m. on January 16, Hanoi time), the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his wife Le Thi Bich Tran and the Vietnamese delegation arrived at Frederic Chopin Airport, Warsaw, to begin an official visit to the Republic of Poland from January 15-18, at the invitation of Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his wife and the Vietnamese delegation at Warsaw airport on the Polish side were Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Wladyslaw Teofil Bartoszewsky, Polish Ambassador to Vietnam, Director of the Protocol Department, Director of the Asia-Pacific Department, Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the Vietnamese side, there were Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Ha Hoang Hai, Embassy staff and representatives of Vietnamese expatriates in Poland.
This is the first official visit of a Vietnamese Prime Minister to Poland in 15 years.
The visit took place in the context of the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Poland developing well, towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
During this working trip, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to hold talks and meet with senior leaders of Poland, including President Andrzej Duda, Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Speaker of the House of Representatives Szymon Holownia, and President of the Senate Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will visit and deliver a policy speech at Warsaw University; visit the National Institute for Cyber Security - NASK; receive leaders of the Vietnam - Poland Friendship Parliamentarians' Group; attend the Vietnam - Poland Business Forum and receive leading Polish economic groups.
In particular, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will meet with officials and staff of the Embassy, representatives of the Vietnamese community in Poland; attend the Spring Homeland 2025 program and wish overseas Vietnamese in Poland a Happy New Year; and visit the ASG Trade Center - where many Vietnamese people trade and do business.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to Poland this time aims to create a breakthrough, raise the level of relations with the two countries, thereby promoting and deepening relations with the Central Eastern European region. In particular, the two sides will discuss and propose solutions to strengthen cooperation in the fields of politics - diplomacy, defense - security, economy - trade - investment, education - training, culture - sports - tourism, local cooperation, people-to-people exchange, agriculture, environment, health, information technology and communications, justice, development cooperation, labor cooperation... between the two countries.
