On the afternoon of March 8, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a Government meeting to assess the regional and global economic situation, remove difficulties and obstacles, and propose tasks and solutions to promote economic growth of 8% in 2025 and double digits in the following years.
In his concluding remarks, the Prime Minister emphasized that promoting 8% growth in 2025 and double digits in the coming years is a very difficult and challenging task but an order from the heart, mind, responsibility to the nation, people and people.
The Prime Minister requested to promote public investment disbursement, implement national key projects and works, build financial centers, free trade zones, connecting railway projects, high-speed railways, nuclear power plants, etc.
The head of the Government said that economic cooperation with foreign countries plays an important role, contributing to promoting economic growth of 8% in 2025 and double digits in the following years.

The Prime Minister especially noted the focus on further promoting trade and investment cooperation with partners, especially major partners such as China, the US, Europe, Japan, South Korea, etc.
Accordingly, along with improving competitiveness, transparency, attractiveness, and resilience of the economy, there must be proactive solutions to balance trade, promote the signing of investment protection agreements with partners.
The Prime Minister requested to continue to closely monitor and grasp the developments of the situation, responsiveness, and timely, appropriate, flexible, feasible, and effective behavior for each market, especially in the context of changes in economic policies and tariffs of countries.
The Prime Minister directed the promotion of political, diplomatic and economic relations to enhance economic - trade - investment cooperation, thereby contributing to promoting growth.
According to the Prime Minister, priority must be given to thoroughly, promptly, appropriately and effectively handling issues of concern to partners, demonstrating Vietnam's goodwill.
The head of the Government requested the development of a trade balance plan with major partners, paying attention to exploiting, supplementing shortcomings, and supporting each other; making the most of signed FTAs and promoting new FTA signings to diversify markets and diversify supply chains.
Review taxes, especially large partners, to adjust if necessary and in line with the interests of all parties; review and propose to promote cooperation in various fields, especially promoting cooperation in the fields of high technology, innovation, digital transformation, especially emerging industries.
Ministries, branches, especially localities, proactively resolve projects that are still stuck by foreign partners, especially large trade partners.
Create conditions for foreign enterprises to expand investment and business to expand the supply chain in Vietnam, helping Vietnam participate deeply in the supply chain of foreign enterprises; completely resolve problems related to labor licenses and visas.
Be transparent and publicize economic, trade and investment activities, especially the fight against trade fraud; promote communication work, reflecting Vietnam's efforts in promoting economic cooperation, especially with traditional partners and major partners.
