This afternoon (March 6), Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will chair a national online conference on removing difficulties and obstacles, promoting the development of social housing.
The conference was held in Hanoi, online to 63 locations in localities across the country.
The conference's goal is to remove difficulties and obstacles, promote the development of social housing and effectively implement the project "Investing in the construction of at least 1 million social housing units for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period of 2021-2030".
Previously, the Government Office issued Official Letter No. 427/CD-VPCP to ministries and the State Bank of Vietnam on organizing national conferences to remove difficulties and obstacles, and promote the development of social housing.
Accordingly, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Construction to report on the development of social housing and the implementation of the 1 million social housing projects; propose to invite large real estate enterprises to advise the Government to remove difficulties and obstacles, promote the development of social housing and implement the above project.
The Prime Minister requested the State Bank to report on removing difficulties and obstacles in accessing credit capital for real estate businesses; report on disbursing VND120,000 billion in loans to support businesses to soon complete projects to develop social housing, workers' accommodation, renovate and rebuild apartments.
The State Bank reported on the proposal for young people under 35 years old to get long-term preferential loans.
On March 5, Ms. Tong Thi Hanh - Director of the Department of Housing and Real Estate Market Management (Ministry of Construction) - said that according to the summary of reports from localities, 1,309 locations have been planned nationwide, with a scale of 9,737 hectares of land for social housing.
According to the synthesis of reports from localities, in the period from 2021 to present, 655 social housing projects have been implemented nationwide, with a scale of 593,428 units.
Of which, 103 projects have been completed, with a scale of 66,755 units; 137 projects have started construction, with a scale of 114,618 units; 415 projects have been approved for investment, with a scale of 412,055 units.
In 2024 alone, the country has 28 projects with a scale of 20,284 units completed, an increase of about 46% compared to 2023, equivalent to about 6,420 units; 23 projects with a scale of 25,399 units have been granted construction permits and started construction, an increase of about 13% compared to 2023, equivalent to 3,000 units.
The number of projects approved for investment is 113 projects, equivalent to 142,450 units, an increase of about 101% compared to 2023.
Regarding the task of implementing the credit capital of VND 120,000 billion, according to the report, up to now, 37/63 localities have sent documents or published on the electronic information portal about the project portfolio participating in the program, with a total of 90 projects, the total disbursement amount under the program of VND 120,000 billion is VND 2,845 billion, including VND 2,580 billion for investors in 20 projects, VND 265 billion for home buyers in 15 projects.
