According to VNA, Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco Farani shared that President Lula da Silva's visit to Vietnam "is of great political and economic significance". The visit will greatly contribute to strengthening bilateral friendship and opening up opportunities to expand and diversify cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment as well as politics.
Ambassador Marco Farani noted that the Brazilian President will travel with a political delegation at the highest level, including leaders of both houses of the National Assembly. President Lula da Silva also invited Brazilian entrepreneurs from the most typical fields of the Brazilian industry and agriculture to join the working delegation.
According to the Brazilian Ambassador, President Lula da Silva's visit will emphasize the complementarity between the two countries, the important role of the two economies in key areas such as agriculture, science - technology and innovation, and expand new cooperation channels in trade, economy and investment.
The visit also promotes deeper interaction in the field of people-to-people diplomacy. In addition to the continued high-level dialogue that was launched from the visit to Brazil by Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in 2023, this visit of the Brazilian President marks an important step forward in bilateral relations and dialogue between the two countries.
Sharing about the potential for cooperation between Vietnamese and Brazilian enterprises, Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco Farani informed that two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Brazil will reach 7.9 billion USD in 2024 and there is still much potential for expansion. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President Lula da Silva have expressed their desire to facilitate bilateral trade to reach 15 billion USD by 2035.
The Ambassador pointed out that both countries have increasing consumer demand, a balanced economy and a stable political environment, thereby promoting bilateral trade flows.
He revealed that on March 29, the last day of the President's visit, the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry, in coordination with the Brazilian Embassy in Vietnam, will organize the Brazil - Vietnam Economic Forum with the participation of more than 100 Vietnamese enterprises from many different fields and more than 50 representatives from Brazil's most important industries and agriculture.
"The Economic Forum will be an opportunity to analyze and discuss 3 important areas to promote bilateral economic relations: Industry; agriculture; energy. These are all areas in which both economies have achieved strong growth momentum, combined with innovation mechanisms and high-tech application" - Ambassador Marco Farani said.
According to Ambassador Marco Farani, Brazil and Vietnam have all the conditions to take advantage of the advantages of bilateral trade cooperation, including technology exchange, establishing partnerships towards third markets, as well as cooperation in the defense sector. In particular, Brazil has strengths in the aviation industry, while Vietnam has a lot of experience in the fields of the defense and security industry.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Brazil - Vietnam Friendship Association Pedro da oliveira said that the semiconductor and aerospace industries are two very potential areas in which the two sides can strengthen cooperation in the future. In addition, the two countries have great potential to expand cooperation in agriculture, tropical crop research, electronics, automobile manufacturing, culture and sports.
