Brazilian President to visit Vietnam at State level

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will pay a state visit to Vietnam from March 27-29.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the invitation of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong, President of the Federative Republic of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will pay a state visit to Vietnam from March 27-29.

Mr. Lula da Silva has held 3 terms as President of Brazil: First term from January 1, 2007-1, 2007; Second term from January 7, 2010-1, 2010 and Third term from January 2023-1, 2027.

President Lula da Silva admires and has a deep affection for Vietnam, admitting to being a member of the "Vietnamese generation". He is the first and only head of state to date of Brazil to officially visit Vietnam from July 9-10, 2008.

During his two previous terms as President, he focused on directing the promotion of cooperation with Vietnam in many fields of economy, trade, science and technology, renewable energy, education and training; establishing a Comprehensive Partnership with Vietnam 2007 and upgrading the relationship to a Strategic Partnership (11.2024).

President Lula da Silva welcomed official visits by General Secretary of Agriculture Duc Manh (5.2007) and President Tran Duc Luong (11.2004); Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh (9.2023); met bilaterally with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the G20 side in Brazil and issued a Joint Statement to upgrade relations to a Strategic Partnership (11.2024).
