On the morning of December 16, in Can Tho City, the Central Propaganda Department held a national conference to review the work of advising Party committees on Party building in politics, ideology, ethics and propaganda fields in 2024; and deploy tasks in 2025.
Mr. Tran Cam Tu - Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Inspection Commission - attended and delivered a speech at the conference. Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department and leaders of the Central Propaganda Department chaired the conference.
At the conference, delegates listened to presentations on good practices and issues that need attention in propaganda work; on determining the name when merging the Propaganda Department and the Mass Mobilization Department; and on implementing tasks and solutions for 2025. In particular, focusing on implementing Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Party Central Committee on "Continuing to innovate and streamline the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently"; streamlining the apparatus of propaganda departments at all levels to be efficient, effective and efficient to quickly implement the tasks of the sector in 2025, ensuring quality and progress.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Cam Tu - Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission - commended and congratulated the achievements of the entire Propaganda sector in 2024.
The Standing Secretariat emphasized that 2025 is the year when the entire Party, people and army are determined, make efforts and be creative to achieve and surpass the goals of the 13th National Congress. This is the year when Party congresses at all levels will begin to be held towards the 14th National Party Congress. This is also the year to resolutely and effectively implement the revolution of streamlining the political system apparatus; the year of premise for the country to enter a new era.
"The Propaganda sector needs to closely follow the leadership and direction of the Politburo, the Secretariat and Party committees, strongly innovate thinking and methods to well perform the assigned tasks" - the Standing member of the Secretariat and Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission noted.
The Standing Secretariat requested the Propaganda Department to focus on advising Party committees at all levels to lead and direct the implementation of political and ideological work; propaganda work, orienting public opinion, creating high unity within the Party and the entire political system, and consensus among the people on policies, goals, requirements, and tasks of streamlining the organization and apparatus of the political system in the new situation.
The Standing Secretariat suggested that the Propaganda Department should study and implement the merger of the Propaganda Department and the Mass Mobilization Department; unify the name, develop working regulations after the merger; restructure the staff to suit their capacity and qualifications; focus on ideological work and policies for staff after the reorganization.
"Organizational streamlining is a political task and an urgent requirement. The sooner it is done, the more beneficial it will be for the people and the country," the Standing Member of the Secretariat emphasized.
The Standing Secretariat requested the Propaganda Department to direct and orient information and propaganda regularly, continuously and effectively, creating a broad political movement to successfully organize Party Congresses at all levels and the 14th National Party Congress.
Preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies, promptly advise the Politburo, the Secretariat and Party committees at all levels to organize extensive political activities throughout the Party, from Party cells to the Central Committee, on basic viewpoints, contents, and strategic orientations on the new era, the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise, in order to create high unity of awareness throughout the Party, the entire people, and the entire army; strongly arouse national spirit, spirit of self-reliance, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, national pride, creativity, and aspirations for development to bring the country into a new era, building a prosperous, happy, and prosperous country.
The Standing Secretariat requested the Propaganda Department to focus on advising the Politburo, the Secretariat and Party committees at all levels to effectively lead and direct the fields of culture, arts, science, technology, education, training, environment, population, health care, social security, etc. to care for and improve the material, cultural and spiritual life of the people, especially in remote areas and ethnic minority areas.
