On May 4, General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense - chaired the expanded Central Military Commission Standing Committee meeting.
The conference considered and gave opinions on the rearrangement of military enterprises in the period 2026 - 2030; considered and proposed the conferment of the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces (AHLLVTND), the title of Hero of Labor in the renovation period and some other important contents.
At the conference, leaders of the General Staff reported and proposed to the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission to give opinions on the content of rearranging military enterprises in the period 2026 - 2030.
Through discussion, all opinions agreed that, in the immediate future, it is necessary to continue to restructure state capital in enterprises with the same functions and tasks, combined with investment in capacity improvement to meet the requirements of performing military and defense tasks and developing the country's economy in the new situation.
In the process of operation and development of enterprises, determine the roadmap to 2030 to form enterprises with the capacity and conditions to establish economic groups.
Concluding the above content, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, General Phan Van Giang agreed to establish a Steering Committee for the Ministry of National Defense to restructure state capital in enterprises under the Ministry of National Defense in the period 2026 - 2030; directing the General Staff to study and adjust the organization and staffing of agencies and units to ensure streamlining, compactness, and effective operation; gradually becoming fully technologically autonomous to meet tasks in the new situation.
At the conference, the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission considered and proposed the conferment and posthumous conferment of the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in the resistance war period, and the conferment of the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Hero in the renovation period for collectives and individuals. Assigned the General Department of Politics to direct the completion of dossiers and report to competent authorities, ensuring strictness and compliance with regulations.
On this occasion, General Phan Van Giang awarded the Government's Emulation Flag to the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army for excellently and comprehensively completing all aspects of work in 2025, outstandingly leading in the Determined to Win emulation movement of the entire army, contributing to the cause of building the Army, consolidating national defense, building and protecting the Fatherland.
