Continue to deepen the comprehensive cooperation relationship between Vietnam and France

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung received French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet to say goodbye.

On the afternoon of August 27, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung received French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet to say goodbye on the occasion of the end of his term of office in Vietnam. Attending the reception were Politburo Member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung.

At the reception, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung congratulated Ambassador Olivier Brochet on excellently completing his term of office in Vietnam; highly appreciated the Ambassador's positive and dedicated contributions in promoting Vietnam-France relations to develop deeply, practically and effectively, especially the milestone of upgrading relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (October 2024), as well as promoting and preparing for visits and delegation exchanges at all levels.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always values relations with France, one of Vietnam's top important partners in Europe and Vietnam's first Comprehensive Strategic Partner in the European Union (EU). The Prime Minister expressed his pleasure at the positive developments in bilateral relations: political trust is increasingly strengthened; economic, trade, and investment cooperation is constantly strengthened; in particular, scientific and technological cooperation and innovation have become a new pillar.

On the basis of the current good relationship, the Prime Minister requested the two sides to continue to deepen the comprehensive cooperation relationship, and at the same time requested the Ambassador, in his new position, to continue to pay attention to and support strengthening bilateral relations, especially in areas where the two sides have great potential such as science and technology, innovation, high-quality human resource training, promoting the traditional cooperation foundation in health, education and training, culture and heritage preservation.

For his part, Ambassador Olivier Brochet respectfully thanked Prime Minister Le Minh Hung for taking the time to receive him; expressed his emotion at the concern and support of the Government, ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam for him personally as well as the French Embassy throughout the past term; and was proud to witness and contribute to the strong and historic development steps of the two countries' relations.

The Ambassador affirmed that France always values Vietnam's increasingly high role and position in the region and on the international stage. The Ambassador affirmed its desire to continue to contribute to the development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries by promoting practical cooperation programs and projects, especially in the fields of economy, infrastructure, aerospace, nuclear energy, education - training and culture.

Sharing deep feelings and impressions about the country and people of Vietnam, Ambassador Olivier Brochet affirmed that in any position, in the coming time, he will continue to pay attention and actively contribute to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries and the people of the two countries.

Concluding the reception, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung expressed his belief that Ambassador Olivier Brochet will continue to promote his role as a bridge of friendship between the people of the two countries, contributing to fostering the Vietnam-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to become increasingly strong, substantive and sustainable.
