According to VNA, on the morning of October 28, the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 3, Ministry of National Defense solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Military Armed Forces' Traditional Day (October 31, 1945 - October 31, 2025) and received the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal. Politburo member and President Luong Cuong attended and spoke at the ceremony.
At the ceremony, President Luong Cuong reviewed the glorious feats of the Armed Forces of Military Region 3 in the struggles for national independence, as well as in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Stating the situation in the world, the region and the country, the President requested the Party Committee, the Command and the Armed Forces of Military Region 3 to focus on building a political strong force, as a basis for improving the quality of the overall combat strength; thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing the Resolution of the 12th Army Party Congress, the Resolution of the Military Region Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, building a strong Military Region Party Committee in politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres, associated with building comprehensively strong, exemplary agencies and units, strong and outstanding organizations, operating effectively, in accordance with functions and tasks.
The Party Committee, Command and Armed Forces of Military Region 3 continue to effectively implement Resolution Central Committee 4 on strengthening Party building and rectification; exemplary in implementing well the regulations on setting examples and revolutionary ethical standards of cadres and party members to promote the fight against, combat, prevent and repel signs of degradation in political ideology, ethics and lifestyle, "self-evolution", "self-transformation" within the Party.
The President requested to thoroughly grasp Ho Chi Minh's military ideology; the Party's policies, guidelines and resolutions, especially the military, defense, foreign affairs guidelines and the Fatherland Protection Strategy in the new situation; build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, modern Armed Forces; grasp, evaluate and correctly forecast the situation, advise the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on correct, timely, and appropriate policies and solutions, contributing to firmly protecting the independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Fatherland, sea and islands "from early" and "from afar", maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for national construction and development.
The President said that it is necessary to continue to effectively implement the policy of adjusting the organization of the Armed Forces of Military Region 3 in the direction of "streamlining, compact, strong, modern"; focusing on developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation; improving combat capabilities, management, command and operation in the digital environment.
The President noted the need to strictly maintain discipline, order, high solidarity and unity, innovate methods to improve training quality, combat readiness, timely learn from experience from recent and current military conflicts in the world; proactively and promptly adjust training content and methods, improve the quality of the whole, strength, level and combat capability, ensure that the Armed Forces of Military Region 3 are always ready to fight high and fight victoriously in all situations.
