Faced with heavy rain, floods and serious landslides in the mountainous communes south of Da Nang city, Military Region 5 has deployed large-scale forces to support people in responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
The Forward Command Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Military Region 5 was established in Tra My Commune, Da Nang City, consisting of 29 people, headed by Colonel Nguyen Van Hoa - Deputy Chief of Staff of the Military Region. The Command is equipped with 19 vehicles of all kinds, including command vehicles, Kamaz vehicles, information vehicles, excavators, bulldozers, tractor-trailers, kitchen vehicles, etc. to serve rescue and relief work.
In this southwestern area of Da Nang City, a total of 2,453 people were mobilized to participate, including 142 soldiers, 742 militia, 315 commune police and 1,254 people from the commune's disaster prevention and control shock force. The force has urgently opened a road to access the isolated residential area in villages 3, 4, and 5, Tra Leng commune, and supported the evacuation of 377 households with 1,559 people to safety.

Heavy rain on October 25-27 caused 30 landslides in this area, 13 flooded areas, isolating 665 households. By noon on October 27, most of the traffic routes had been cleared, and 17 points were still under repair.
In mountainous and border communes such as Nam Giang, Tay Giang, Hung Son... militia, soldiers, and police are always on duty at vulnerable locations to help people evacuate and move their belongings to avoid floods and landslides.

Currently, the water level on the Vu Gia, Thu Bon, and Han rivers is at a high warning level. It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the risk of deep flooding in low-lying areas and flooding in urban areas will still exist, with the risk level of natural disasters due to flooding at 12. Forces remain on duty on the ground, ready to respond to any new situations that arise.
