On the morning of October 28, Mr. Vu Duc Nhuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Dien Commune (Lam Dong) said that due to heavy rain lasting from the afternoon of October 27 to early morning this morning, Gia Bac Pass on National Highway 28 suffered a serious landslide.

Through on-site inspection, local authorities and authorities recorded 7 landslides on Gia Bac Pass. Of which, there are 2 large-scale landslides at Km 51 and 50+200 National Highway 28.
At the two above-mentioned locations, landslides occurred on both the negative and positive slopes, burying hundreds of tons of rock and soil and large trees. The landslide completely paralyzed traffic in both directions on National Highway 28.

Currently, vehicles traveling on National Highway 28 are stuck. The authorities are present to direct traffic flow and instruct drivers to turn around to ensure safety.
Chairman of Son Dien Commune People's Committee Vu Duc Nhuan said: Since early this morning, October 28, the Commune People's Committee has focused on mobilizing forces and means to coordinate with the Traffic Police of Lam Dong Provincial Police to overcome landslides.

However, due to the large amount of landslides on the pass with a large amount of rock and soil and a lack of vehicles, many difficulties are being encountered.
Currently, the commune has reported the landslide situation to the Lam Dong Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention to support forces and means to overcome landslides.
It is expected that the landslides on Gia Bac Pass will be basically fixed by around 3:00 p.m. on October 28.

Gia Bac Pass is more than 10km long on National Highway 28 connecting Son Dien Commune with Ham Thuan Bac Commune to National Highway 1A. In the opposite direction, National Highway 28 connects with National Highway 20 to Da Lat and Ho Chi Minh City.
The authorities recommend that due to the complicated landslide situation and paralysis, drivers should not enter National Highway 28 to ensure safety.
