D'ran Pass connecting Da Lat with Phan Rang is seriously eroded and cracked

Lam Dong - Prolonged heavy rain caused landslides from the positive slope down to D'ran Pass, causing cracks in the roadbed, obstructing traffic.

On the night of October 28, the leader of the People's Committee of Xuan Truong - Da Lat Ward, Lam Dong Province, said that the locality is coordinating with relevant units to handle the landslide scene in Cau Treo area, on the D'ran Pass.

Initial information, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, at around 8:00 p.m. the same day, rocks and soil from the positive slope suddenly slid down the D'ran Pass road, obstructing traffic.

In addition, the authorities also discovered a cracked road surface near Cau Treo, at risk of subsidence.

That same night, the authorities of Xuan Truong - Da Lat ward coordinated with D'ran commune and the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police to block off and handle the scene. To ensure safety, vehicles are instructed to move along other routes.

D'ran Pass is about 10km long, located on National Highway 20, with many dangerous curves. This is the route connecting Da Lat urban area (Lam Dong) with Song Pha Pass on National Highway 27, forming the Da Lat - Phan Rang (Khanh Hoa) traffic route.

In recent days, Lam Dong province has continuously experienced prolonged heavy rain, causing many residential areas, roads and agricultural production areas to be deeply flooded; many passes have appeared landslides.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Lam Dong province, floods have killed 1 person, flooded 255 houses, affected more than 670 hectares of crops, many mountain passes have landslides, total estimated damage is more than 24 billion VND.
